Call-in Procedure

When members make deposits they need to know when they will have access to the funds they just deposited. Through this audio, you will understand what Regulation CC is and why it exists. You will know how to determine the appropriate hold time for a check, exceptions available to extend hold times, and why a comprehensive check hold policy is important for your credit union to mitigate losses due to bad checks.

Through this audio, you will:
  • Identify what Regulation CC is
  • Discover why we place holds on checks
  • Examine the types of holds that are available
  • Identify the importance of a comprehensive check hold policy
  • Learn how to determine the appropriate length of the hold
Who should attend
This audio conference is beneficial for all frontline staff at your credit union.

Is a recording available for purchase?
Yes, you can share the information with other staff by ordering a recording of the audio conference (even if you couldn't attend the live call). Archives will be available within 24 hours of the live audio. Click here to register for the archived version.
INSTRUCTORS
Michael Carter, CUCE
Michael Carter is the compliance education specialist for the New York State Credit Union League. He develops and conducts compliance webinars, provides compliance updates to member credit unions in online and in-person sessions, and trains credit union staff at local and national conferences. Michael also coordinates the league's efforts in regulatory advocacy by soliciting opinion letters from appropriate regulatory agencies and submitting comment letters from credit unions. He also maintains InfoSight, the league's online compliance system, which launched in February 2005. Prior to joining the league in 2001, Michael worked in various departments at Pioneer Savings Bank.

Affiliation with CUNA/League is required for attendance.
How many people from my credit union can call in?
Each registration provides call access for one phone line or person. While the audio conference can be listened to by several people at once (in a conference room, for example), the registered individual is the only person who will receive transcript credit for attending.

CANCELLATIONS
Cancellation and refund requests must be in writing (or faxed to 608-231-4327) and are subject to a $30 service charge for the audio conference if cancelled seven days prior. No refunds will be granted if your cancellation is received seven days or less before the audio begins. Substitutions are accepted anytime before the audio conference starts.
