Social Media Series Sessions Include:
Web 2.0 101 - An Introduction to Social Media for Credit Unions
Christopher Morris, Web Manager for CUNA Councils, will introduce social media and examples of how credit unions and others are leveraging this new technology.

Why should your credit union care about social media? This webinar details why you can't afford not to. It also highlights some free online tools every credit union marketer should be leveraging regardless of their level of engagement.

This lays the foundation for the webinar series, covers the basics of web 2.0 - the who, what, where and why.

Results 2.0: Using Web 2.0 Tools to Achieve Real Business Objectives
The last thing anyone needs is another touchy-feely recommendation to jump on the Web 2.0 bandwagon. Gen-Y isn't going to magically flock to your financial institution just because you launched a blog. In this session you'll see real-world examples of online solutions that go beyond "feel good" buzz campaigns.

Jeffry Pilcher, President of ICONiQ, a financial brand consultancy and publisher of TheFinancialBrand.com, will lead you through implementing Web 2.0 tools that accomplish real business objectives:

  • The hardcore realities behind all the Web 2.0 hoopla
  • The right- and wrong way to build a Web 2.0 strategy
  • How Web 2.0 tools can build your brand while selling products
  • How to get your C-suite on board with a Web 2.0 initiative

How to Tie your Social Media Strategy into your Overall CU Marketing Plan
Now that you know what social media is about and how to put your credit union's social media strategy together, how and where does it align with your current marketing plans and other objectives?

This webinar ties everything you've learned in this series together and helps your credit union integrate your social media strategy into existing channels. You'll hear from Joe Rotella, CTO of Delphia Consulting, noted as a one-man think tank that's been doing incredibly innovative things online for more than 20 years.

BONUS SESSION FOR ARCHIVE SERIES ATTENDEES!
Access to the Archived Peer to Peer Social Media Web Roundtable
This 90 minute roundtable will continue the conversation on social media and credit unions. Kicking it off will be staff from three credit unions engaging in social media followed by facilitated questions from participants. This is NOT a webinar! Instead, this is a recording of a discussion forum hosted in a web conference format for attendees to share knowledge, insights and experiences with their peers.

Facilitator: Christopher Morris, Web Manager, CUNA Councils

Panelists:
  • Trey Reeme, Director of Channel Integration, TDECU
  • Trey's focus at TDECU includes product development, social media marketing and channel integration. Last year, TDECU launched Young & Free Texas, a campaign to generate more young members. They conducted an online contest to find a young spokesperson, who then used social media to connect with other young people across the state.
  • Matt Davis, Director of Public Relations, Members CU
  • Matt began building online communities with Members Credit Union Football Pick'em in 2004. Since then, his credit union has been a mainstay on YouTube, Vimeo, Viddler, and other social media sites. In 2008, he was responsible for the creation of "What are you saving for?," an online community of savers built around Members Credit Union's new savings program with the same name. The program has earned international press coverage, including features in Fast Company magazine and Yahoo! Finance.
  • Shari Storm, VP/Chief Marketing Officer, Verity CU
  • Verity Credit Union was awarded a Net.Banker Innovator of the Year Award for being the first financial industry with a corporate blog. Blogging since 2004, Verity has also experimented with Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Yelp and LinkedIn as communication tools. Along with their blog, Our Voices, Verity also hosts an educational resource center called spendsavelive.com.
