ABOUT THIS WEBINAR
Is your credit union new to payday lending, or just starting to think about offering an alternative? One thing to consider is how to effectively launch and continue to market such a product.

According to Lois Kitsch, CUDE, National Program Director of REAL Solutions, approximately 30 million Americans use alternative financial services (AFS) such as check cashing and payday loans for most, or all, of their financial and credit needs. It is estimated that 7 – 15% of credit union members use payday loan products. This growing trend is affecting millions of limited-income, low-wealth households in the United States and is presenting credit unions with a great opportunity to help provide a lower-cost alternative. Many credit unions have had success -- those that are offering alternatives to payday lending are already saving consumers millions of dollars. This webinar will highlight marketing strategies used by credit unions that have been successful.

This webinar is in cooperation with the CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council.

Through this webinar you will:
  • Learn from credit unions offering successful pay day loan products
  • Hear strategies for competing with predatory lenders
  • Discuss how to align your payday lending program with the credit union mission
  • See various marketing tactics that have worked

WEBINAR OVERVIEW
CUNA Webinars enable staff to pick up new skills and keep up with daily responsibilities. Just like in face-to-face classes, students see and hear a presentation, ask questions of the instructor, and refer to handouts. You need only a speakerphone and computer with Internet connection. And if you have a computer projection screen, it's easy to provide this training to a whole roomful of staff!

Use our webinars as part of a full day of training. Gain knowledge and ideas at the webinar, then spend some time discussing how the new information applies to your credit union.

CUNA Webinars use WebEx to provide an interactive and convenient online learning environment. Whether you are a first time WebEx user, or simply need a refresher, take a short tour of WebEx to help you get the most from CUNA Webinars. You'll learn how to effectively interact with the presenter and your peers during live webinars.
