ABOUT THIS WEBINAR
Were you unable to attend the CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council conference this year? Or did you attend the conference but have staff that couldn't join you in Nashville? There are lots of great breakout sessions at the 2008 conference and this is your chance to relive one of the most popular marketing sessions.

Learn the secrets of how media buyers analyze radio, TV and print media. When can you negotiate better deals? Why do viewer ratings matter? And, more importantly, are there times when viewer ratings don't matter at all? What's the difference between advertising on the 6 o'clock news vs. "Survivor"? What about those cheap cable TV spots? How do you decide on a full- page ad vs. a quarter page ad in a newspaper? Learn what circulation rates do and don't tell you. The session will change how you think of media consumers. This webinar is in cooperation with the CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council.

TOPICS & OBJECTIVES
  • Analyze different advertising medias
  • When to negotiate media deals
  • The importance of viewer ratings
  • What shows/programs are most effective for advertising

INSTRUCTORS
Phoebe Wall Howard
Prior to running an agency, Phoebe worked for the largest public relations firm in the country. She spent 12 years working in newspapers, magazine, TV, and radio. She is an Associated Press award winner and Pulitzer Prize nominee.

As a political editor and columnist for The Fresno Bee, Phoebe oversaw election 2000 coverage out of Washington, D.C. and Central California and coordinated polls and televised political debates.

She launched the "Quality of Life" public affairs series on Valley Public Radio stations KVPR-FM 89.3 and KPRX-FM 89.1, moderating discussions about issues relating to Central California.

Before moving to the West Coast, Phoebe worked at The Des Moines Register. She covered presidential campaigns, labor union negotiations, and corporate fraud. The Iowa Supreme Court cited her articles about foster care children when it revamped state policy.

Phoebe began her career at The Arkansas Gazette covering then-Gov. Bill Clinton, death row, and the dark side of the Miss America Pageant. While in Arkansas and Iowa, she also worked for People magazine.

WEBINAR OVERVIEW
CUNA Webinars enable staff to pick up new skills and keep up with daily responsibilities. Just like in face-to-face classes, students see and hear a presentation, ask questions of the instructor, and refer to handouts. You need only a speakerphone and computer with Internet connection. And if you have a computer projection screen, it's easy to provide this training to a whole roomful of staff!

Use our webinars as part of a full day of training. Gain knowledge and ideas at the webinar, then spend some time discussing how the new information applies to your credit union.

CUNA Webinars use WebEx to provide an interactive and convenient online learning environment. Whether you are a first time WebEx user, or simply need a refresher, take a short tour of WebEx to help you get the most from CUNA Webinars. You'll learn how to effectively interact with the presenter and your peers during live webinars.
