Instructors

  Eric North

Eric is an attorney with the law firm of Moore, Brewer, Jones, Tyler & North, with offices in La Jolla and in Pleasanton, California, and in Austin, Texas, who, along with the other attorneys in his firm, devotes his law practice to the representation of credit unions and other financial institutions. Prior to becoming an attorney in 1984, Eric worked within the consumer finance industry in management, and in lending, collections, and operations departments. In addition to practicing law, Eric, through his separate business "NorthLegal Training and Publications," operating out of Litchfield Park, Arizona, has helped train thousands of financial institution employees and attorneys from across the country on topics including bankruptcy, privacy, fair credit reporting and other regulatory compliance, and general "legal update" issues.


  Harry Strausser, III

Harry is president of the Remit Corporation and Interact Training and Development where he oversees the operation of a full-service collection agency and coordinates the training programs of its educational subsidiary. Harry is active in both the Pennsylvania Collectors Association and ACA International in which he is a certified instructor. He has instructed more than 150 seminars for the ACA. At the 1993 International Conference in San Antonio, he was named "instructor of the year" for that organization and is a member of the International Fellowship of Certified Collection Executives. In January 1998 he was the recipient of the Kurt Swersky Innovative Leadership Award at the Leadership Forum of the American Collectors Association held at Snowmass, CO. He was a founding board member of the Northeast Pennsylvania Chapter of the International Credit Association. He currently serves on the ACA International Executive Committee as Treasurer.


  Mike Schenk

Mike is vice president of economics and statistics for Credit Union National Association. He conducts economic and financial research and provides support for CUNA Governmental Affairs and Public Relations efforts. His analyses regularly appear in publications such as CUNA's Credit Union Magazine and CU360 Newsletter. Mike has 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Before joining CUNA in 1992, he was the director of research for Financial Research Corporation, where he conducted economic analyses, competitor evaluations, and product-line planning for mutual fund companies.


  Connie Kilmark

Connie has developed an original approach to personal money management and has been dubbed the "Dr. Ruth of money" because of her appealing personal style and background in counseling and finance. She balances the emotional and psychological aspects of money with the financial facts and has helped thousands of clients achieve financial health. Connie is frequently interviewed by the local and national media concerning personal finance, psychologically sensitive money management and investment strategies, and the connection between money and emotions for individuals and couples.
