Juli Lynch
Juli is president of Turning Pointe Consulting and brings to her clients a passion for experiences that guide organizations, teams, and individuals toward realization of their potential. For the past 15 years, Juli has facilitated change processes for a long list of organizations from Fortune 500 to small businesses. Her expertise is in the area of team and leadership development with a special emphasis on the dynamics of organizational culture. Juli uses a mixture of both outdoor adventure and experiential classroom techniques in order to promote full engagement by participants.
Ann Hoyt
Ann is professor of consumer science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and associate faculty member of the Center for Cooperatives. She teaches, does research, and develops training materials for consumer cooperatives throughout the country. Ann is founder and director of the Center for Cooperative's Cooperative Management Institute, a three-week intensive training program for retail and wholesale cooperative managers. She is also director of Consumer Cooperative Management Association's annual conference.
Recipient of the 1990 National Cooperative Education Award, Ann is currently developing a video-based director training program for cooperatives. In addition, she serves on several cooperative and foundation boards.
Kate Abel
Kate is a political program specialist for Credit Union National Association. In this position, she manages various fundraising programs for the Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC) and is a liaison to league governmental affairs and political specialists (GAPS) candidate campaign committees and party committees.
Prior to joining CUNA Kate was the assistant director of the Campaign Management Institute (CMI) at American University. Before working for CMI, she was an event manager at The Nancy Bocskor Company, a fundraising firm specializing in political consulting, political education, and event planning .
Charles Grossklaus
Charles has been active with RCU since August 1971, and has been the president of RCU since September of 1984. He has been actively involved with the credit union movement both on the state and national level as a Wisconsin Credit Union League director from 1985 to 1996, and was chairperson of the board from 1993 to 1996. Charlie has served on the CUNA Government Affairs Committee; the Credit Union Council for the National Association of State Credit Union Supervisors' (NASCUS) Board, and Filene Research Institute's Board.
Steve Rodgers
Steve is the editor-in-chief for CUNA Research & Advice. In this role, he serves as editor of CUNA's Environmental Scan, the Credit Union Executive Newsletter, and CUNA's new research portal—CU360. He also provides editorial oversight for CUNA's survey reports and best-practice reports. Prior to his current position, Steve was editor of Credit Union Magazine for seven years. He has been writing about credit unions and the credit union movement for more than 25 years.
Tad Pinkerton
Tad has served on the board of directors of the University of Wisconsin Credit Union for five years. He is currently the Board Vice-Chair. Tad is an emeritus professor of computer sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Since 1977, he held information technology leadership positions, most recently for two years as acting director of the Division of Information Technology, an IT service organization with 750 employees and an annual budget of more than $65M. His research interests included operating system design and implementation, planning for information resources management, and performance measurement and evaluation.
Dr. Chuck Pulvino, Ph.D.
Charles is an emeritus professor in the Department of Counseling Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is widely published and is the co-author of 15 books including Dynamic Counseling, A Practical Guide to Interviewing, and Restoring Harmony: Conflict Management in School Settings. In addition, Chuck is regularly engaged as a consultant to community, business, and educational institutions. He has conducted over 300 seminars and workshops nationally and internationally on financial and school counseling, communications, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, training, and team building.
Chris Ransom
Chris of Turning Pointe Consulting has more than 22 years of experience in designing, delivering, and facilitating programs in high performance teamwork, leadership development, creative problem-solving, managing change, and optimal performance. He embraces experiential learning techniques where participants are challenged to bring their business experiences to focus on active, meaningful simulations that provide a refreshingly different approach to learning. Chris has worked with a wide range of organizations such as Lands' End, Kimberly-Clark, Credit Union National Association, Trek Bicycle, and the University of Wisconsin to national and international organizations such as DuPont, Motorola, Sears, and General Motors.
Denise Gabel
Denise is the vice president of strategic direction for Spokane Teachers Credit Union. STCU is the largest credit union in Eastern Washington with six branches and is nationally recognized as a progressive organization. The credit union serves 75,000 members with more than $500 million in assets.
Denise, who previously held the position of vice president of marketing & strategic planning for 10 years, now oversees the credit union's planning and innovation efforts helping to develop the long-term vision and guide the organization through change. Her marketing team received numerous awards for their work in local, state, and national competitions including the first place Bridge Award for newsletters in 1995, 1997, and again in 1998.
Bill Hampel
Bill is senior vice president of the research and policy analysis department and chief economist for Credit Union National Association. He joined the department as an economist in 1978, was promoted to vice president in 1985, then appointed to senior vice president in 1992. He also writes economic analysis columns for several credit union publications.
Phillp Hellmuth
Phillip is an associate dean emeritus in the College of Letters and Science. Phil's background includes extensive work in research and personnel administration in the college and technology transfer and industry relations.
His area of research interests include legal aspects of educational administration, health law, and director and officer liability, where he has several publications. He has been active in the credit union movement as a volunteer. In addition to his involvement with CUNA Management School, he has been a director of the University of Wisconsin Credit Union since 1971.
Ty Warren
Ty is a consultant, author, and lecturer with over 30 years of broad consulting experience in leadership, CEO development, management training, and marketing. He has worked with over 400 clients including Microsoft, Walt Disney Company, International Paper, Delta Airlines, the United Nations, and scores of organizations within the financial services industry.
Ty is on the faculty of CUNA Management School at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He recently was the closing keynote speaker at the World Organization of Credit Union's International Leadership Conference held in Paris, France. His book, White Hat Leadership, was recently released.
