Instructors

  Tim Gardner

Tim is a financial consultant at CUNA Mutual Group. He assists credit unions in the selection and use of a variety of programs that perform asset-liability management, interest rate risk analysis, financial analysis, budgeting, strategic planning, and loan pricing. Tim also conducts strategic planning training sessions, presents financial analysis training workshops, and assists credit unions with special projects. Previously, Tim was the financial analyst for Wright Patman Congressional Federal Credit Union in Washington, D.C.


  Harold Sollenberger

Harold is a professor of accounting at Michigan State University, where he teaches management accounting at the undergraduate and MBA levels. He has served as the associate dean, MBA programs and has been chairperson of the accounting, finance, and insurance faculty. Harold has taught an entire generation of credit union managers in over 20 years of teaching for CUNA and many credit union groups, leagues, and individual credit unions. He has written several articles and publications dealing with financial planning in financial institutions, management information systems, and information management.


  Glenn L. Strebe

Glenn is the president/CEO at Air Academy Federal Credit Union in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is also the chairman of Air Academy Service Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary credit union service organization providing complete mortgage lending services and complete financial services. Previously, Glenn served AAFCU as COO and CFO. Prior to joining the credit union movement, he was an auditor and subsequently a financial analyst. He has authored a credit union finance book, a white paper for the COO Council, published in various credit union periodicals, contributed to a book on CUSOs and various articles on CUSOs.


  Jim Toliver

As executive director of Advisory Services, Jim is responsible for the overall coordination of the Investment Advisory services and products. Jim has over 20 years of experience in investments, capital markets, and the financial services industry. Prior to this position, Jim was chief risk officer at Mid-States Corporate FCU. He started his professional career in the capital markets with Bear Stearns, adding practical market experience to his academic background. Jim then went to First Nationwide, entering their management trainee program. There Jim received training and served internships in each key function of banking. Jim took this formal training to credit unions becoming the CEO of NARDA Credit Union for nine years. He also served as vice president/controller for Motorola Employee's Credit Union, followed by serving Alliant Credit Union as the director of investments. Jim is a CFA charterholder, a member of the Investment Analysts Society of Chicago, and the CFA Institute
