Michael Downey
Michael is an executive benefits specialist for CUNA Mutual Group, a company that specializes in the design, implementation, financing and ongoing administrative support of supplemental executive benefit programs specifically tailored to credit unions. Michael has more than 15 years experience in helping high net-worth individuals and businesses in wealth management, business succession planning, and executive benefit planning.
Christopher J. Pippett
Chris Pippett, is a partner of Saul Ewing, LLP. As vice chair of the firm's business department and chair of the financial services practice group, he advises financial institutions on a broad range of regulatory, corporate governance, business, and real estate issues. He advises credit unions in the structuring and documentation of construction and business loan facilities and other asset based lending transactions, including inventory financing on behalf of large national suppliers. He has substantial experience in representing state and federally chartered credit unions in a broad range of regulatory, corporate governance, business and real estate issues. He has represented the full gamut of credit unions from small SEG based credit unions with less than $1 million in assets to large, community based and corporate credit unions with more than $1 billion in assets. He advises credit unions on complicated corporate governance issues and has regularly been called upon to represent boards and management in contested board elections, controversial meetings, criminal investigations, and litigation brought by employees and members.
Steven W. Rick
Steve is a senior economist for Credit Union National Association. He conducts economic research, teaches at various credit union schools and conferences, and writes articles for CUNA publications. Steve facilitates strategic planning sessions for credit union boards and has authored a textbook on asset-liability management. Steve is also a faculty member of the economics department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Mark is the senior vice president of corporate marketing & sales at Fiserv, a leading provider of information management solutions for the financial industry. He has been extensively quoted in the financial press and is a renowned keynote speaker and chairperson at financial services events and conferences around the world. He previously was president and CEO of TowerGroup, the leading provider of information technology-related research and advisory services focused exclusively within the financial services sector. Mark led TowerGroup's evolution into the financial services industry's leading research and advisory company and built a team of expert analysts and consultants widely recognized as the best in the industry.
Jane Walters
Jane Walters was selected as NCUA Region II Director in February 2007, and she is responsible for the examination and supervision of credit unions in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Previously she had served as Regional Director in the former Region VI (Concord, CA) and in Region IV (Austin, TX) prior to being named Deputy Executive Director in February 2006.
Rick Wargo
Rick Wargo, executive vice president/general counsel for the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association, provides legal advice and support to the Association and its affiliated companies. Rick engages in credit union advocacy on behalf of the Association and its member credit unions before legislative bodies, administrative agencies, and courts. Before joining the Association in 1992, Rick served as a staff attorney for the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and he also engaged in the private practice of law.
