ABOUT THIS EVENT
So, you're new to the board or supervisory committee of your credit union, now what? The first step is to understand the history, structure, and mission of the credit union movement. Then, familiarize yourself with the relevant numbers that credit unions refer to regularly as well as the common risks that face them day-to-day.
In this workshop you will:
- Explore the history of the movement
- Examine the credit union difference
- Study the significant financial reporting you will be regularly reviewing
- Consider categories of risk that credit unions face
This workshop is a prerequisite for the CUNA Volunteer Certification Program. If you cannot attend and are working towards your CCUV designation, all of the following three Volunteer Achievement Program (VAP) self-study courses and exams can be completed as an equivalent.
- V01 History & Philosophy
- V02 Financial Reports
- V03 Managing Risk
Can't attend the live workshop? Get your designation through the CUNA Volunteer Certification Program Self-Directed Option! The self-directed option provides an opportunity for volunteers to earn their CCUV designation with learning activities of their choice. Each area of study includes several learning activity choices, and choices are updated regularly. There is no time limit for completing the CCUV designation. Once enrolled, at least three credits must be completed annually to remain active. If there is no activity for one year, the enrollment fee is forfeited and re-enrollment is required. Learn more.
