  Mike Schenk

Mike Schenk is vice president of economics and statistics for Credit Union National Association. He conducts economic and financial research and provides support for CUNA Governmental Affairs and Public Relations efforts. His analyses regularly appear in publications such as CUNA's Credit Union Magazine and CU360 Newsletter. Mike has 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Before joining CUNA in 1992, he was the director of research for Financial Research Corporation, where he conducted economic analyses, competitor evaluations, and product-line planning for mutual fund companies.


  Rick Olson

Rick is one of the foremost speakers in the credit union movement and has a gift for bringing simple solutions to complex problems. Every year he speaks at 60-70 credit union events nationwide. Rick is the author of two highly acclaimed STAR modules on sales and member service, and also wrote Unleash Your Greatness, in which he shares the keys to becoming a person of impact. Rick's speaking style is humorous, with lots of audience participation. He is the former president of a national youth organization and taught college courses for six years.


  William P. Ryan

Bill is a consultant to foundations and nonprofit organizations and a research fellow at the Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations at Harvard University. At Harvard, he currently directs the Nonprofit Governance and Accountability Project, a joint initiative of the Hauser Center and Harvard Law School aimed at engaging Harvard researchers in critical questions related to nonprofit governance.


  Steve Delfin

Steve joined the National Credit Union Foundation in October 2004 as the executive director. Most recently his leadership at NCUF has resulted in the refocusing of the foundation's program strategy with emphasis on managing the REAL Solutions program. REAL Solutions began as a project of the Filene Research Institute in 2004 and now resides with NCUF. It is designed to help credit unions effectively reach low-wealth and modest means households creating the next generation of loyal, long-term credit union members. Steve, who has more than 30 years of experience working in and with major national and international non-profit organizations and as social responsible international corporations, provides leadership and management oversight for the Foundation's offices in Washington, DC and Madison, WI.


  Marcia Barron, CPA

Marcia Barron is the director of internal audits for Credit Union National Association and CUNA Strategic Services, Inc. She is responsible for providing an independent evaluation function, primarily focused on assisting management and the audit committees in the ongoing development of the control environment. She is also involved in the evaluation and assessment of significant risk associated with new, merging, and consolidating functions that impact services, processes, operations, and controls. Marcia has over twenty years of experience in finance and audit.


  Julie Esser

Julie Esser, director of new alliances for CUNA Strategic Services, is responsible for the development of new strategic alliance relationships. This includes assessing the marketplace needs; understanding the market opportunities and threats; determining if a new product line would be better supported through a new alliance or existing one; executing and evaluating RFPs; conducting the due diligence investigation; creating the business plan; developing overall profitability; and creating marketing, sales, and support strategies. Julie has been with CUNA for 20 years and has extensive experience in product management, marketing, product development, and project management.


  Tim Harrington, CPA

Tim is president of T.E.A.M. Resources, a training and consulting firm that provides consulting, strategic planning, and training to credit unions from coast-to-coast. Tim is a dynamic speaker who can make complex subjects very simple. As an expert in the field of credit unions, he has been involved in hundreds of credit union audit engagements and has consulted with, and provided training to, credit union employees throughout the country. Tim has been working with credit unions since 1989 when he directed the internal audit of a $100-million-dollar credit union. As an internal auditor, he gained a deep understanding of credit unions, their problems and successes.
