CUNA Volunteer Certification Program

Frequently asked questions for self-directed option

How do I transfer credits to the program?
Any credits you’ve earned prior to enrolling in the program will be considered “transfer credits”. Transfer credits will be considered regardless of the course work completion date. To be eligible, you must have received a passing grade on the exam that is shown in your CUNA transcript. Transfers are allowed based on the limits specified for each area of study and/or track.

How do I view my transcript?
To view your transcript:

  1. Visit training.cuna.org and choose CPDOnline, then Log in OR Log in here.
  2. New students, register under the New Student Registration. Returning students, log in using your username and password.
  3. In the Getting Started box on the left-hand side, select View My Training Transcript link.

If you prefer to see your course codes in your transcript, please select ‘printable transcript’ located above the transcript text in the right margin.

What are the exams like?
Examinations vary in length depending on the type of learning activity. All examinations are multiple choice and are graded on a pass/fail basis. They are also un-proctored and “open book.”

Is there a test-out option?
A test-out option will be coming in 2008. Test-out options will be available for Safety & Soundness, Strategic Planning, and CEO Oversight areas of study under the Board of Directors Track. Test-out Exams will be 75 questions, administered online through CPDOnline, and have a fee of $75 each.

How do I maintain my certification?
Once you’ve earned the CCUV designation, it remains current for three years.

To maintain your certification, participants are required to complete 20 credits every three years. (Credits must include each of the five categories, but there is no minimum for any.) Credits for maintaining certification may be from Level 1 training, Level 2 training, or a combination of the two.

Every year, you will receive an annual certification status notification via e-mail.

Are there any learning activities?
Many learning activities will be offered on an ongoing basis. Some credit options through the schools and conferences will change regularly.

With questions or for more information, e-mail us or call 800-356-9655, ext. 4261.
