The Act was created to ensure the proper handling of members’ financial information. Customers of financial institutions have a right to expect their financial activities to have a reasonable amount of privacy from the scrutiny of the federal government.

- Describe the types of requests government agencies can submit to request access to a member’s financial records
- Describe the requirements for disclosing members' financial records to a federal agency
- Explain the RTFPA’s record retention requirements
